Eighteen months before a left-wing activist assassinated Charlie Kirk at a Utah university, the conservative icon sat down with Coptic Christian pastor, Andrew Sedra, who had survived Muslim Brotherhood death squads in Egypt and fled to Australia. Together, they warned of an "unholy alliance" between Islamist activists and the radical left targeting Christianity in the West. Kirk is dead. And now, on the one-year anniversary of his murder, Pastor Andrew Sedra is fleeing his home in Australia after four attackers he describes as "LGBTQ left-wing activists" came to his house, cut the power, and threatened to kill his family — including his five-week-old baby. Australian police told the Sedra family their "hands are tied." The warning Kirk and Sedra issued together has become prophecy.
The Attack
The assault on the Sedra home occurred after the family’s address was leaked online following more than a year of escalating death threats. Four individuals cut power to the house, banged on the front door, and issued explicit threats. “I will f***ing kill you,” one attacker said, according to Sedra’s account. “I will take you mother-f*ers down. I know where you live and I’ll be at your doorstep every night.” The attackers referenced the couple’s newborn baby multiple times during the confrontation.
When the family met with Australian police afterward, officers allegedly told them law enforcement could take only “reactive measures, not preventative measures.” The police advised the family to “take the safety of our family into our own hands.” The Sedras are now fundraising to relocate. “We have never personally asked for help, but this time we need your help,” they wrote on GiveSendGo. “The reality is we don’t have the finances to cover the cost of this urgent move.”
From Egypt to Australia
Andrew Sedra, founder and lead pastor of Echo Church in Sydney, was born and raised in Egypt under what he describes as “Christian persecution under the Islamic State of Egypt.” His family faced targeting by the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist organization that dominated Egyptian politics during the Arab Spring, for their Christian ministry. In Facebook posts, Echo Church documented that Sedra and his brother “should be dead if it weren’t for God” after escaping “the evil, wicked, and violent hand of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.”
Sedra relocated to Australia, where he built a ministry centered on what his biography describes as “preaching unashamedly against the woke, toxic-liberal ideologies infiltrating the West, and in particular today’s Church, speaking the truth of the Bible no matter the cost.” That message brought him into Charlie Kirk’s orbit.
The Warning They Issued Together
In early 2024, Sedra appeared on Kirk’s platform to discuss Islam, Christianity, and what they saw as converging threats to the West. The conversation, recorded approximately eighteen months before Kirk’s death, touched on immigration, religious freedom, and the intersection of progressive activism and Islamist influence.
“What unites Islam and the LGBTQ sex religion is one thing,” Sedra said during the exchange. “They both hate Christianity, they both hate the West, and they both hate America.” Sedra, drawing on his experience fleeing Egypt, argued that Western countries were repeating mistakes by failing to require ideological assimilation from immigrants hostile to democratic values. The day before his assassination, Charlie Kirk warned on X, “Islam is the sword the left nis using to slit the throat of America.”
Kirk’s Assassination
On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old who had recently shifted leftward politically, fired a single round from a rooftop 160 yards away. Kirk died at the scene in front of 3,000 people.
Robinson’s motive, prosecutors stated, was Kirk’s opposition to same-sex marriage and transgender ideology. “I had enough of his hatred,” Robinson wrote in a text message to his romantic partner, who was transitioning from male to female. “Some hate can’t be negotiated out.” Robinson’s mother told investigators her son had become “more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented” in the year before the killing.
Robinson faces capital murder charges and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. President Trump declared a National Day of Remembrance for Kirk, calling him “a Christian martyr, and a titan of the American conservative movement.”
The Pattern
Sedra now describes facing threats from the same ideological coalition that produced Kirk’s killer. “After more than a year of constant death threats from the LGBTQ leftists and violent Islamists, some of the people threatening our family now know where we live,” he wrote on X. The threats mirror the warning both men issued: that progressive activists and Islamist groups, despite theological incompatibility, share opposition to traditional Christianity and Western values.
The Sedra family has vowed to continue their ministry despite the threats. “We will continue to preach the truth of the Bible with courage and boldness,” they stated. “We will continue fighting for the faith against violent Islam and woke ideologies, and we will continue fighting for freedom and liberty in America, Australia and throughout the Christian West.” The family is currently fundraising so they can urgently move to a safe location.
One Year Later
Today marks the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s assassination. Memorial events are scheduled at Utah Valley University, where thousands will gather to honor the activist who helped mobilize young conservatives and played a significant role in Trump’s 2024 victory. Robinson remains in custody awaiting trial, with no date yet set.
For Sedra, the anniversary carries a darker significance. The prediction he and Kirk made together — that Christian voices opposing both Islamism and progressive ideology would face coordinated threats — has materialized in both their lives. Kirk paid with his life. Sedra is now in hiding, forced from his home by the same forces they warned about, while authorities in a Western democracy tell him they cannot protect his family.
Politics/religion/sexual orientation aside, this is what you get when the government disarms the public: the bad guys have guns and the cops have guns, but the cops are always a few minutes away when seconds can make the difference between life and death.
